On November 18, 2009 the Federal Communications Commission adopted rules that affect the local tower siting process for both applicants and local jurisdictions. Specifically, the FCC established time frames within which a local zoning authority must take action on a siting application, and determined that a locality cannot reject an application merely because the locality is already served by another provider.
